In the real world, the last PM, a Conservative, actually defended this stuff, to the point of saying that British multiculturalism works and taking real political damage to do so. Some Labour people are so convinced of their superior virtue they don't seem to realise it's about what you *do*.

there’s nothing to be learnt from any election, as they’re small-n events each with deep idiosyncrasies (I only half believe this)

i’m deeply unsure about this ai strategy. but there’s a lot of overlap in the people who are complaining that the govt should focus on the basics instead, and the people saying ‘deliverism’ isn’t enough and there needs to be vision.

I don’t massively understand people who complained about people complaining about passport queues post-brexit. people are going to be irked by minor things which are annoying! doesn’t make brexit right or wrong either way, that calculation will obviously vary by individual

i am sorta sympathetic. but I don’t think you can say “don’t do structural reform - just fix things!”
I'm begging. I'm truly begging, on my hands and knees, this government not to get sucked into the hideous distraction of major local government structural reform.
