I've just learned that Tchéky Karyo passed away today. RIP to one of my personal favourite "oh hey it's that guy!" Actors, who elevated everything he was in.

Halloween watch this year is House of the Devil. I picked up a copy from Dark Sky Selects and it almost looks too good. Almost!

Not happy with the result but what a game to watch. #WorldSeries

I really like art where the artist is processing something via their art.

Anyway the new Lily Allen album is great.

Just putting it out there that I'd still really like to see Horizon: An American Saga - Chapter 2

I dunno gang, I'm starting to think that Guillermo del Toro has a particular aesthetic.

(Note: this isn't a complaint)

Kevin O'Leary is already the worst and you can add this to the list of reasons why. Baffled that anyone would put him in their movie.

Can't sleep so I'm doing some podcast homework. #NowWatching Frankenhooker

If you know or follow me you know that movies that feel play plays (few locations, very wordy, achingly well performed) are my kinda thing and therefore it should be no surprise that im about 15 minutes into Blue Moon and *love* it so far.

Ethan Hawke rules.

I just watched Mary Shelley's Frankenstein, the one from. 1994 directed by Kenneth Branagh, and it might be the most acted film I've seen this year.

Every aspect of every scene in this movie plays for the cheap seats.

I am sure the studios wonder why people turn to piracy to watch movies, but on the other hand, Young Frankenstein, one of Mel Brooks' most famous and popular films, isn't available to stream (or "purchase" digitally) in Canada.

I saw these comments on a post about the Peacemaler finale and I am once again begging people to watch the things they're watching.

(Light spoilers that I can't mark from the app I'm posting from.)

What are your top three films in The Conjuring universe?

So that's the IFSCA Best 100 of the 2st Century So far. What did you all think of the list? Where'd we get it right? Where'd we get it wrong? Let me know!
October 5, 2025 at 6:12 PM
Greta Gerwig and Julia Ducournau share one cool distinction in that all of their eligible, solo-directed films (Lady Bird, Little Women, and Barbie for Gerwig, and both Raw and Titane for Ducournau) appear on the list. #IFSCA100
October 5, 2025 at 6:12 PM
Maybe the least surprising aspect of the list is that Christopher Nolan is the most represented filmmaker with five films, and they're all in the top half of the list. Damien Chazelle, Denis Villeneuve, Steven Spielberg, and Greta Gerwig appear three times each. #IFSCA100
