Maybe it has to do with the fact that LLMs are trained mostly on "boring data" mostly that doesnt stir emotions in us in a way that a well written novel does.

Would have been a lot cooler if they hadn't trained o3 on arc-agi dataset as it would have given a better understanding of o3 capability to generalize to unseen tasks. The main problem is that we now dont know whether this performance was due to training data or o3's reasoning capabilities.
