This is why language matters. And I expect more from a national newspaper. Calling these people "confederate supporters" implies that is the Confederacy is worthy of supporters, at least in the current Trumpian world where every side has good people. 2/2

Fwiw, when I was so despondent about W.'s reelection, an older lefty told me about how much it sucked when Reagan was reelected in a way that suggested literally everybody loved him. To be on the left in the US is to always be aware it is so much easier to destroy than create. But that's life, baby.
