I was a bit disappointed in this one. I know it was the point for the narrator to be off-putting, but it really kept me from sliding into this book the way I should. The vibes were good, at least?

As a former theatre girlie, I was VERY concerned about this adaptation lol. They butchered the pacing of Defying Gravity, but on the whole, I was impressed! The costumes and wig work alone were worth a second watch.

I have soooooo much personal beef with SJM for her writing style and the general lack of editing in this series, but I will hand it to her: she knows how to create a larger plot structure. I liked this a LOT more than the first one.
