Still not sold on all this talk of Gods honestly. The fantasy stuff never works for me.

All in all though, I love that Who gives writers like Inua a mainstream, BBC One slot to tell stories that are this personal and different and experimental, regardless of whether they always land with me. (2/2)

A bit disappointed. Much too talky, light on threat and action and for a 1 location story the character work felt very thinly sketched. I greatly enjoyed the ideas and concepts at play, Ncuti was very commanding and a lot of the dialogue was poetic and beautiful... (1/2)

Also, "just hire people" makes it (i'm sure unintentionally) sound like Sharma/Inua aren't people or worth hiring?

Dude we've had like, 3 non-white writers in 60 years of Doctor Who stories... hardly some wild imbalance?

They're also not stupid enough to hire crap writers solely to suit the agenda; maybe these are the stories they liked most of all the pitches they received?

He seems to get a lot of opportunities/pop up at lots of events. It's very disappointing and frustrating. Was a big fan of his girlfriend's cosplay too until I realised they were together...

I think for me it's the Doctor/Donna split scene between the two engine rooms, the subtle but growing sense of unexplained tension building to the "my arms are too long". Magnificent

The visuals were amazing, Ncuti and Nicola have a great/different chemistry from him and Millie and Moffat's writing is as sparky and cynical as ever. Already liking it more than last Xmas ❤️

And the dark, dystopian tone really lets him and Sophie shine. Very interested to see how the amazing looking new visuals on the SE change the feel of the story; could push it into Top 10 territory for me if done tastefully. (2/2)

A creative, nightmarish, unhinged political satire with excellent, fun performances and sickly sweet scares. Slightly let down at times by the studio bound nature of the production and the ambitious visuals. One of my go-to McCoy stories; the "gun scene" is a defining moment for his Doctor... (1/2)
