I found it very interesting how the visuals for this section of the reading seemed heavy and uncomfortable Aswell. something about the art style adds to the text.

The toenail thing is super jarring, necessary to the story but jarring. #bsuwlit

"i love you as one loves the last seed saved" I think was a very beautiful line that I resonated with in love in a time of climate change #bsuwlit

I think the phrasing "im more than a person, im a convenience store worker" speaks to how intertwined she is with the identity of a convenience store worker and how much she really loves it, despite the things that others may think about her. #bsuwlit

I think it's really interesting how in-tune she is with her customers and her store. She is obviously very committed and passionate about this job. #bsuwlit

Ending this book in the same place that it started in I think is very symbolic and really shows how much they have grown throughout this journey together even though the ended apart. #bsuwlit

The parallels to the story of this book and the holocaust is interesting. "The night of shattered glass" is one of a few. After reading that I noticed other parallels as well. #bsuwlit

I thought the first page of this was very interesting, the constant reminder of "you are tourist" is powerful in a way that reminds the reader of their privilege. #bsuwlit

while reading chapter 7 I was very interested in Lucia's very different lifestyle as compared to the mother. She kind of does what she wants and doesn't conform to societal norms whereas the mother is on the opposite side of that coin. #bsuwlit

At first I was slightly taken back by her first saying "I was not sorry when my brother died" but as the story went on I was able to grasp some of the contempt and form my own understanding of his death. #bsuwlit

I really enjoyed the full circle moment of Elesin pointing the blame on others after being so full of confidence and wanting recognition for his sacrifices in the beginning of the story. I also loved Iyaloja's breakdown moment where she really takes the reigns in this story. #bsuwlit

#bsuwlit I found myself fully emersed in the "drama" of the whole thing, especially act one. Though it was a little hard to fully comprehend and I had to read it more than once, Once I understood the plot I was very invested.
