In AVCode, we had our technical director, Shuriken255, create a script that would actually generate a nuke effect using numbers! Here's how he did it:

“The nuke was made using the LOVE game framework and Adobe Animate combined. All number particles were simulated using LOVE based on the parameters such as mushroom head size, height, stem width, etc, that were changing every frame. These parameters were "animated" in Adobe Animate and transferred to LOVE. The smoke was animated in Adobe Animate as spinning circles and then simulated in LOVE as spheres, trying to avoid overlapping digits. After the nuke looked good in LOVE, it was transferred to Adobe Animate.”
