Only in Connecticut Missouri and New York. And only for people over 22 and not on maternity care. It is not a major change and people are exaggerating it heavily.

Blue Shield reversal is over stated it is only in 3 states and it has an exception for people in maternity care and people under 22

Who is saved by this? They replace him with a different guy this is not some massive takedown of United. Look at their stock prices after initially dropping its back on the rise. So how can it be justified no is saved. No massive institutional change at United occured.
December 11, 2024 at 11:22 AM
That message has not been sent after the initial shock of the murder United Healthcare stock is increasing and there has been no major impacts in United.
December 11, 2024 at 11:21 AM
I feel like that implies killing him removes the threat when it doesn’t there have been no changes to UnitedHealthCare strategy or profit margins infact after the murder of their CEO UnitedHealthCare stock has seen a rise after the initial shock of the death so really who lost other than the family.

Why should hé show remorse? Hé killed someone. End of story. CEOs have their part in murders absolutely and it’s not like I’m saying that’s okay infact I have done the opposite repeatedly killing people in cold blood is not okay it wasn’t okay for United it’s not okay for Luigi Mangione either
December 10, 2024 at 8:55 PM
When has Luigi Mangione shown remorse?
December 10, 2024 at 5:58 PM
We shouldn’t call someone a hero for vengeful remorseless murder.
December 10, 2024 at 4:09 PM
No it’s government price controls we are already seeing it with insulin and I think it should be expanded to more products
December 10, 2024 at 4:07 PM
I mean setting prices that people could afford so they don’t die
December 10, 2024 at 12:15 PM
I think there are other issues with an organization like the NHS in the USA and personally I prefer to keep private industries and do a wide series of price controls but I do see your point about the demonization
December 10, 2024 at 12:10 PM
“Every murder strikes at the heart of civilization; it is an attack on all mankind”
December 10, 2024 at 12:07 PM
I agree but we are not coming off of world war 2 and currently we have a revenge killing of a CEO and people calling for more murder.
December 10, 2024 at 12:05 PM
If the only way is mobs lynching every high level person in the health insurance industry hell yes I am against it.
December 10, 2024 at 12:04 PM
Both are bad
December 10, 2024 at 12:02 PM
Would killing the board members too? What about the step below them? What about the actual person who denied the claim? How many people do you think it is okay for Luigi Mangione to kill in cold blood.
December 10, 2024 at 11:34 AM
Real Change would require a hell of a lot more murder which is not something people should advocate for. There shouldn’t be mobs of people killing every high level person involved at health insurance companies.
December 10, 2024 at 11:31 AM
And we have a system that decides guilt and punishment it is not up to private citizens to go kill people they don’t like.
December 10, 2024 at 11:29 AM
Yes but I don’t think it’s okay if someone gets their insurance claim denied to go kill everyone at the insurance company even if they do shady and horrible practices
December 10, 2024 at 11:28 AM
Absolutely, they are very predatory and exploitative. I just don’t think revenge killings are the proper response. I don’t think just because people get exploited by politicians it gives them the right to kill them.
December 10, 2024 at 8:52 AM
I agree Brian was a horrible person and it is an evil company but I don’t think that justifies this murder. You should not root for the murder of people just because you don’t think they are a good person.
December 10, 2024 at 8:50 AM
I don’t think it is a turning point either the only change that has happened is a different, smaller company making a small change with major exceptions. This isn’t something that something that should be cheered on it is something that should be condemned to someone that should be condemned
December 10, 2024 at 8:40 AM
Don’t get me wrong the CEO bears responsibility for the disgusting and cruel actions his company have done but this vigilante “justice” is out of revenge not self defense
December 10, 2024 at 8:37 AM
I think that’s apples to oranges. There is significantly more of a disconnect between the CEO of the largest insurance company that denied coverage and your husband that beats you. To me the CEO murder was a revenge killing as there was no threat by the CEO hé wasn’t the employee who denied the claim
December 10, 2024 at 8:36 AM
That doesn’t mean you have to treat a murderer like a hero. You can say what hé did is bad and also we should change this industry and look at these people being exploited.
