TLDR: ARC-V is a mess with a great show hidden under it, but it was consistently really fun to watch, and for that reason I just can't bring myself to say I don't love it. There's a reason I got Pendulum Scale tattoos out of everything. Yu-Gi-Oh's theatre kid era, they could never make me hate you.

I also don't hate the making Z-Arc smile idea either, I think that's a decent way to cap off the themes of the show, even if, again, rushed. I honestly enjoyed the last arc, Yuya versus Reiji was a great fun use of the Action Duel mechanic, it all just needed time that Synchro had already wasted.

I don't hate the ending either! I just wish the Dimension Highway arc was longer, particularly for Kurosaki, but again that's a pacing issue more than anything. I sense notes of Judai in Yuya's fear of the Dimension Dragons which was nice, Yuya as a character is an anxious type, it makes sense.

Action Duels are better than 5D's' Speed Spells at least, although crutch on Evasion and Miracle a LOT, but they add a kinetic flair to Duels that other entries don't have. More than ever I consistently enjoyed watching the Duelling; Yuya, Yuri, and Dennis in particular are so much fun on-screen.

The first 60 episodes are god-tier, but it does completely fall apart when it hits Synchro. If/when I re-watch it I'll probably skip that stretch, and honestly it gets better after that? The pacing is the big problem, but I do think the bones of a good show are there, if you ignore Battle Beast.

Lemme tell ya, this took a lot of tweaking and changing things, and a decent chunk of last-minute edits, but I'm suuuuper happy with how it came out. I should draw more NSFW honestly, but this is one of 3, so there's still a Dean and an Emmet to go.
