i mean your still getting a filtered translation just through different means. i think saying dub is a disservice compared to sub is kinda silly if you dont have any lived experience in the culture, nor understand the original language. youre getting a translation either way audio or literary

also im going to lazer beam the fuck out of you for bringing up sub v dub discourse on flcl

the FLCL dub is generally (and personally) regarded as one of the best dubs of anything ever. also it gets certain underlining *thingsss* across way better compared to a subbed watch

for a first time watch its obviously up to the viewer's (hi taxxon) personal pref, but 9/10 i would rec the dub
