Extremely happy to share that I successfully defended my PhD thesis "The Green Transition in the Labor Market and its Political Consequences" last week! 🎓🥳
I find strong support for an association of coal closures with backlash: concretely, via a negative effect on vote shares for the SPD and a positive effect on abstention rates in affected municipalities. Moreover, I provide indicative evidence for the underlying mechanisms. 7/n
