Trust me, regardless what you achieve, the most important thing is to focus on the craft itself. Try to make stuff that you’re proud of. Acclaim won’t magically make you feel great about yourself or your work, but the creative process can.

Of course you need some kind of ego to share stuff in the first place, but I think people who are great at stuff often are their own worst critics.

Look at the work and strive to make it as good as you possibly can. Don’t focus on your image at all, focus on creating. People that are truly great at something also have a great sense of what they don’t know so they rarely consider themselves great artists.
