And while those people are annoying, it’s still the overarching systems that allow people to be displaced & no longer be able to afford their housing, so I just think it’s more productive to think about how we collectively fight those systems

I totally get that & I resent those people as well!! I spent months yelling at people like that on Reddit 😅 I just know a lot of people don’t see past that & distrust anyone that might be moving in for other reasons & I don’t want there to be more division amongst working class people

Looking for the people who “deserve” to relocate & those who don’t is a waste of energy. Our energy & anger should be directed at the institutions and systems that allow gentrification to occur. your enemy is capitalism.

I was 1st generation born in NY, my mom was a cleaning lady & we lived with my brother in a tiny 1br apartment in queens. She moved us to Philly bc we had family nearby & it was more affordable. Should we have stayed out?
