Yeeeaaah they've been slowly crippling adblockers in Chrome-based browsers. I recommend Firefox. Adblockers still work fully on Firefox. Most of the other browsers use Chrome as a base.

I had one friend that was skeptical when I told him how much food costs too. I can see where he's coming from, because it's an island nation (and sure, some foods are definitely expensive due to the geography), but on the whole I was amazed at how affordable restaurants and most foods were.
