I switched to DuckDuckGo from Google just because DuckDuckGo let's me turn the summaries off. Unless it's changed, google does not.

I agree and argue that they can be powerful if the human driving it isnt entirely incompetant. Trusting everything it says is a bad idea, but trusting everything you read on the internet was already a bad idea. The information quality hasnt changed, just the velocity we receive the information.
