Don’t men usually go topless in hot tubs?

For my birthday, Sister gifted me a waxed Amaryllis. No soil. No water. Just light.
It’ll have to go in a different container eventually. It’ll get too top heavy, once the leaves and bud grow. But for now, I like it in the bowl of this old scale.

My favorite season in my favorite place. Fall visits Remote. Stay a while. I’ll make tea.

I get them at Kroger. Never tried them in anything except chicken noodle soup. But they’re perfect soup noodles!

Oh happy day! You have to open it to get the full impact. After so many years of not seeing many butterflies at all, or finding them dead on the ground, this is such a welcome sight!

Because not everything in Texas is ugly.
To those who march in protest today, be safe, keep your head on a swivel, don’t engage.
And thank you from those of us who can’t join you physically, but stand with you spiritually. We’ll be making other good trouble.

Drove down to Kerrville to attend a funeral. It was a beautiful drive through the Texas hills. We drove through the Goldthwaite wind farm. Serenely turning wind into energy, the turbines stood majestic against a bluebird sky.

One of the few things we can be proud of.

I never fully appreciated Salvia. It’s way overused where I live. But I grew Blue Queen from seeds and fell in love! I suppose now I understand its popularity.

New addition to the sewing area. My sister bought me a drop leaf cutting table just like hers! This will make cutting, stacking, pinning, basting, and so much more incredibly easy.

If you have apples getting old in the fridge.
I add and adjust spices as the apples cook. Start with a 1/4 cup of sugar and 1/2 cup of brown sugar for six apples. Add cinnamon, ground cloves, nutmeg, and salt to taste.
Once they cook down, use an immersion blender and cook off extra liquid.

I’ve always loved refrigerators as canvas. Billboards. Art.

Wait… I was away from social media one day and Vance is President? What?

Thank you to my youngest for an incredible Mother’s Day gift, to my sister for being the BEST plus one ever, to Ft Worth for not being a traffic nightmare and, above all else, to James, and to Henry, to the band and crew, for pouring out your souls on stage and beyond on this toughest of the 42. ❤️

The weekend was about pillows. Of course.
New fall pillowslips for my bed.
New Christmassy tree pillows for fun.

Dammit. 😔

Red spider lilies up and blooming. A dozen Canada geese honking overhead. At the edge of the woods, in every direction I look, deer are poised. Waiting for me to go inside so they can graze the fallen acorns. Several big crows in the back yard yesterday. North breeze.
I’ve already made soup.

Fall.

Latest project. New Christmas toss pillows. Using up scraps while I locate a new fabric source.

Very poor image of a Salt Marsh Moth cat munching bluebonnet seed pods. The grass was tall and I was about 10 feet away, driving down the drive, when I spotted it. Wasn’t well dressed for tall grass, so this is a cell phone zoom.

They associate the sound of the WheelHorse with food. So even taking the garbage bin to the road can draw them out.
This time, the feeders got filled and they were very excited.
Really hope the big daddies make it through hunting season. ❤️🤞🏻🦌❤️

I don’t know, for certain, what’s all in ‘em, or how they’re cooked. I can say they are revered by the men in our family.

I found flashcards in a shop, printed like elementary school, but with clever words and quotes. “Hold your horses” and “Good Morning.”

Lacked irreverence. So I made my own.
