I want something similar but slightly different, a heliostat with 2 targets: a window for adding light to my house, and a solar panel on the roof. Send sunlight into the room when I'm home, or use a light switch in the room. Send the light to the solar panel when it's off.

That's fair, but the ability to pick up anything and type without messing with the settings is worth something.
