There is a line where we want our monsters to stay monsters. And its in our nature to want that. But thats not how redemption works. 8/8

But I'm not sure anyone is really ready for that.
Because I don't think that people realize the deep-cutting, radical nature of the promise of forgiveness (a, if not THE central tenet of ✝️); it goes against our nature. 7/?

I *want* to see Vox or Val redeemed, because I want to see the story of HOW they get redeemed. To quote Sera, "How does a guilty soul shed their sin?"
I want to know how people as awful as those to come to guilt, and how that convicting guilt changes them. 6/?

But The Hellaverse's soteriology seems to fundamentally rest on the sinner understanding the dept of their sin and being convicted by their guilt, prior to acting on that new conviction (à la Pentious, "this time, I would do something), as a sign of their redemption. 5/?

Fun fact: no one DESERVES redemption; that's why they need redemption in the first place. 4/?

I watch as people get mad when Charlie asserts that "I believe anyone can be redeemed", but like, that hope is the fundamental premise of Christianity. That even someone as awful as Vox *could* be redeemed.
People think that he, or Val, don't *deserve* redemption. 3/?

I don't actually know vivzie's relationship with religion (though I'm sure I could find it, she's very open in interviews it seems), but part of the power of the story is that fundamentally, it is about forgiveness, atonement, reconciliation, and redemption 2/?
