We are at the Lodge and stayed in one of the cabins before our R2R this year. It feels like a kick in the gut knowing these places were engulfed in flames.
What’s worse though, is wondering what this administration is (not) going to do to restore this, one of the 7 natural wonders of the world.

If you have access to Disney+ I highly recommend the documentary “Into the Canyon” which is the visual story of the same walk described in that book. Besides being cinematically gorgeous, I think it better explains how Pete and Kevin ended up on that adventure.
