I experimented with adding depth through layers here, creating the window first, then the sky, the hill, and then the sunshine. I'm sure I could have added more detail, some snow on the tree or a shadow running down the hill where the tree sits, but I enjoyed this. If you see a frosty window, doodle

I've been struggling to come up with something new to draw that I could learn something new from, and wound up deciding to draw the suggestion of a wolf for someone I love. I learned how colourful shadows can be, and how suggestive. This solved a huge problem I've been having with my art so far.

Here's the non-emote sized version of the latter image. The character is Emily, my partner asked for some emotes of her OC and I forgot I'd downscaled the image before exporting.

Inspired by @mirielle.bsky.social and @roguesart.bsky.social Here's where it started and how it's going. Back in 2021 I started putting googly eyes on my artist friends' things to make them laugh, and from there started learning more than I ever thought I could about digital art.

Some days, all you can do is watch the raindrops. I'm getting better at learning to smudge to make furred edges, and wanted to do something minimal. Stay safe, stay warm, and watch the rain while it comes. A break in the clouds will be here one day.

I was a bit more ambitious with this one, starting with a hand reference, muddling through figuring out an elbow and then trying to decide how a shadowy tendril would coil around it. You can see some of the rough edges still, but I'm happy enough with what I learned.

Sometimes you just gotta do things for you. A vtuber friend of mine got some spontaneous art of people's OCs cosplaying as her model, and I wanted to join in on the fun. This is George, the horrible little skull boy and one of my D&D characters. He's definitely the art I'm the proudest of making yet

I've always been fond of birds everyone else might think of as ugly. Grackles swarm down in massive flocks and have very hoarse calls and cries, but when you look at them, their feathers are a very iridescent purple-blue, and they have piercingly yellow eyes. I agonized over how to draw feathers.

I started out mashing emotes together for people who wanted hybrids of their favorites, then picture editing and touching up, adding googly eyes to things as jokes. Here's one that I put some decent effort into though, drawing all the lines myself. I traced the fox head outline from a blanket I have

Sometimes I doodle things here and there. I've always been surrounded by amazing artists and so far I've started tracing and then colouring and rendering little things, mostly animals or emotes on request. Here's a confused python I did for my partner. Each doodle taught me something new I can do.
