They train models on models currently estimated at between half a trillion and 1.5 trillion parameters.
And the amount of training that is needed for a certain amount of parameters isn't linear.
If you use an old deepseek model, sure, that's not a great harm. But that's not what people actually use.

Instead, compare it to the actual titans. ChatGPT. Gemini. Grok. They run their training *nonstop*, building datacenter after datacenter after datacenter and using enough power draw that it literally starts threatening surrounding infrastructure.

Deepseek is an interesting argument, given that they were proven to have lied about the training power draw. If something looks too good to be true, it probably is. Either way, intentionally picking the lowest power use for training as your argument is dishonest at best.

The fact that there is an astronomic power draw for training modern models is just straight up a fact. Running the models after the fact has low power draw, yes. And they train mostly on stolen data and art, and have been shown to be able to reproduce text verbatim when there is low sample data.

What is wrong with it? I mean, the last bit of the message is a given in a capitalist society, but the first two are pretty much on point in terms of effect. And I am *also* a programmer dealing with the stuff, so I am a bit confused as what's wrong with it.

So long as the LLM models are *old*, it's like.. "Yeah, this is an interesting feature that could not be done in another way.". Like, I feel uncomfortable with it, it's not great, but it's a gnats fart in the wind in comparison with some of the shit done.

The inverse isn't true. It's like, a hand and a half's worth of fingers. With only being *indirectly* exposed to your community. I think that's saying something. You seem to be very loved. I hope things turn out well for you <3.

I hope you give yourself a good pat on your shoulder, because it's really hard to give yourself a good hug. It's beyond great that you are able to talk about it. And despite not being a part of your community, I could count the number of people saying bad shit about you without any fingers at all.

Yes, I want to have theories. I also want to, at some point, know what went on inside the creators head.
That much is selfish.

But there is a bit of heartbreak there in learning that some artists literally delete parts of their own story to *make* it ambigous. Petscop, for instance, had large parts of it deleted to make it less clear.
And for Teeny Toys, parts of the story is clear and some not.

Reminds me of INTERCAL, a joke programming language. It manual stated that it would not have an appendix, but a tonsil, since they wanted to be different and have another removable organ.

Yeah, there is no source for this as I can tell, the reason people seem to think so is that the game uses a lot of store assets, free or purchased. It would make sense then that they might have just screwed up, but nothing actually proving it.

I would straight up just.. not. Gonna be real, it seems a bit dangerous even. Either it's time to modify it and spend a fair amount of time rounding it off, or just.. give up on it. Scarring in that sensitive, bacteria exposed tissue ain't great.
