Lifelong Book Collector / Bookseller. Started making trips to New York City to go to Book Row when I was 16. Book Row is now long gone but my memories of it are still sharp. My favorite place there was the 8th St. Bookshop.
Chambers was not prolific with his horror stories. If he had stuck to them, he would be mentioned with the likes of Poe, Wilkie, Collins, and Arthur Machen. You might say the same thing about Lord Dunsany.

I didn’t know there was a king in yellow, illustrated edition. A remarkable book the author should have stuck to horror fiction instead of writing all those popular fiction romances that he wrote.
