Grandson was taken to the GP and told had wax but they no longer treat; referred to private clinic, £50.
Went 2 days later:- saw the exact same doctor. GP locum on mon, by wed privately doing the job she could have done in a few mins

Good ol’ St Luke. My grandmother called this time “Luke’s little summer”, the mild weather in autumn when you put the garden to bed.
She was a Victorian countrywoman, when saints’ days dictated sowing and harvesting. People then were as intelligent as us and knew as much, just different things.

Just up the road is the Science Museum, which Dad visited frequently and where gained his interest in the new technology of radio. They now exhibit wireless sets by the company he worked for in the 1930s, there’s a good chance he made at least a part of this.

Went to see where my father was brought up in Kensington, a hundred years ago. Grandpa was a chauffeur, trained at Rolls-Royce before WWI. They lived in a flat over the garage, former stables, in the mews. Nan was a kitchen-maid. I’d love to tell her her old home is now worth over 2 million pounds.
