Artist, Linux Focused, I want everyone who wants to participate in Art to be able to do so without restriction regardless of cost. I am hesitant to post my own works as I have little time to practice.
Thank you for checking my profile. Much Love <3
Haven't tried the ARM laptop CPUs yet. Was contemplating getting one of the RISC-Vs Framework will be producing, though. Super interested in tinkering around with it.

We use the Petsafe Happy Ride collapsible travel crate www.petsafe.com/product/happ...
They seem to be hard to find in stock now. I think we got ours off of chewy early last year.
They are kind of pricey but hella cheaper than a vet visit.

Our half pug half beagle mix kept doing similar. We ended up having to get a full travel carrier car seat for her. It's got mesh all around the top and sides so she can't wiggle her way out.

Yeah, the if I can do it mentality made it harder for both my wife and I. I had quit and kept pressuring her to quit but at that time she wasn't ready.
I have to commit and be happy in that decision.

Last time I quit I had to carry around a flavored cinnamon toothpick and that worked pretty well.
May end up trying that again.
Being fully ready is the hard part though. Thank you for the insight.

Congrats! I hope to do the same soon.

Thank you for the update! My wife and I have been holding out hope for that little princess.

I have a bad habit of throwing on headphones and forgetting to play music. It will be like an hour or two in and I wonder why my head is so warm.

That awesome! Congratulations. I'm hoping I can get there soon.

I get annoyed when some USB cables are power line only and don't have a data line. I plug it into the computer with the first cable I find, and nothing happens.
That and proprietary cables. I have a large tote container full of cables I have no idea what they go to but I'm scared to throw them out.

To me I have never given them a good shake of long term use.
I dabbled on one at school and had to fix a few at work but never used one as a daily driver.
They are Hella pretty though. I love the design. But the price and ecosystem have never made it past my barrier for use.

I have always seen Gimp to be more on the photo editing side of things where Krita is better with painting and digital illustration.
June 10, 2024 at 10:41 PM
That's fine. It's not for everybody. My main point is it's not some cryptic puzzle for comp sci nerds like some people claim it to be.
I happen to love it and hope more people find joy in it as well.
The more people on it the more support it will get and apps and industries will open up to it.

For CAD I hear that a lot. I personally have no experience with it. I have seen a few programs like Brics and OpenSCAD supporting Linux but don't know enough to compare them.
But yeah certain industries can have trouble with an OS switch. I don't see that being as big a problem for the average user

VR can be rough I'll admit. I work in the VR industry as my day job and I can get some VR headsets running but it's never as plug and play as some other. But it can also be pretty jank getting some to run on certain windows configs.
I think OpenXR will help ease that more soon.

For illustration and comics I mainly use Krita in place of CSP. It suited most of my needs.

There is a branch of Linux based companies starting to do the same thing. Stream lining their iteration of Linux to work fully with the hardware configurations they use and some are starting to get into stores and getting some advertising budget. Companies like System 76 and Tuxedo are helping.
June 8, 2024 at 12:11 PM
A majority of the market share issue is the result of how the PC market currently works. Windows licenses itself out to hardware manufacturers who pay to show up in stores and pay to place ads.
Same with a Mac with the exception of them being their own hardware manufacturer.

I probably won't be allowed to fully install but I can at least have a segment towards the end on what that looks like if they allow it.
Hopefully it can add some guidance in the process.
The install is a lot of my concern in a class. Do I lean towards dual or singular install, or fully USB test.
June 8, 2024 at 4:17 AM
If I push this with the local library I will need to see what laptop/PCs they are running and the bios and teach a very high level bios.
Let the class boot via USB and then see the OS for themselves.
Installs can be confusing across various implementations but the default is pretty good with mint.
