Waiting for flight (MAN to BFS). Queuing to get through secondary security to then queue to go through tertiary security to then board. Love it. 😉

Ooow. Off to Armoy Road Races this weekend; flag marshalling, catching up with friends. Plans have changed (was supposed to be on ferry last night), have found myself happy to be mooching around an airport. I like airports (hospitals too); is it the anonymous, utilitarian, homogenised, space?

Picture of Sport drinks bottles, delivered weekly to door by ute. The drink, highly coloured fizzy 'pop' made popular in 80s in New Zealand. My sister and I only allowed it on special occasions - so mandatory order for our birthday dinners - friends were our local hook-up on sunny childhood days. ☀️💕

It felt a little rushed? uneven? towards the end, for our performance - but how do you box-up All That into one single play?

The outstanding David Shield's Jacob, though. Breath-taking moments of precision. His transition from pill-popping teen to lived-experience new dad, utterly mesmerising.

The play though. Fuck. Is still sitting with me. Days later. Have carried residual Feels away back up north with me. Punch. Punch-me-in-the-guts-and-make-me-cry kind of theatre. More than I had expected, more unpolished in the playing of it. Feeling improvised in it's realness. Not slick, crafted.

Tuesday, down to Londinium for some theeeataah daaaarhling. Young Vic is unique theatre experience for those only used to formal grand victorian spaces. This sml enveloping, casual, 'hip' venue: edgey-buzz be-seen botanics gin-bar outside. Inside a gentle, friendly, safe-space, performance womb.

Had cinema to ourselves; embraced it, singing, applauding - actively fully-emersed, appreciating phenomenal tribute to one of the few voices that instantly rips at my ribcage. Bawled, too. Beautiful. A crafted study; Davies knows her intimately: from voice to finger-picking, head-twists to sarcasm.

First, finally saw A Night with Janis Joplin. And goodness. Missed live performances at Sadlers, so keen to try national screening. Rarely go to movies so extra intrigue. It was awesome... 👇🏼

Last month, the crocus came. Tempting temperatures and teasing blue skies. Now, the rest of my garden, my heart, my arms stretching up and out. Unfurling tentatively, with hope. These fuckers look delicate, but they're first on the scene; early adopters and breaking ground. Leading the way. 😉

Tough winter. Plsed to be coming out other side again; genuinely surprise myself every year. But also: if I make it through February, I can make it through anything! Sets me up for the conquering required rest of year. 😉 And then: here we are in March. Daffodils gifting us their blooming. Good.

And another snippet of him mooching aboot last night.

Have fostered 5 hedgehogs this year, releasing 3 into our own garden. 2 going back to rescue after being fed-up to gorgeous plumpness, ready for releasing back in place where they were found.

Here, have some hedge-wizard loveliness. Released into our garden 5mths ago, this ex-foster hedgehog Pegasus (we think) pootling around snacking and scratching. We support-feed year-round and keep an eye on health via discreet cameras, working with local rescue for any guidance if required.

Because sometimes I absolutely crave voices from home, will devour anything 'kiwi' on tellybox. Binged After The Party this week. It was a slow-burner, and challenging subject, but I didn't care. Shots of NZ; domestic, coastline, even fashion (or lack thereof) was needed. I miss house parties.

Hmmm. This bstard just bought in mahossive rat. Which turns out, is in fact, not dead. Said rat now under sofa. One upon which I sit. Calls for early retirement. Cannot be doing long periods of 'feet-off-floor' these days, absolutely no core strength.
*flees room in ridiculous high-stepping leaps*

Hope your day has been kind. Thursdays can be a bit overly long, over-cooked, occasionally over-dramatic... I managed to catch a moment, take a beat, as the sky burned into gloaming. And it was a gift. See you tomorrow. 💕

One of my fostered hedgehogs, released into garden at fat and fiesty 900g two months ago, found on driveway last night only 300g and almost frozen to death. Rushed him to rescue (3 doors up) but he died this morning. So that's bums. Here are some pics of Peanut, as was. I'm sorry little dude.
