I also hope that we can all agree that the way the ending treats Marianne as a prize and her happiness as an afterthought—only mentioned in passing on pretty much the last page—is also kind of gross.

I felt as though the story contorted to make Marianne suffer and vindicate Elinor. Through that lens I sympathised with Marianne and was annoyed by Elinor. I was bothered that it was Elinor who confronted Willoughby (and in her heart forgave him!), not Marianne. Let the poor girl speak for herself!
