My wife's family is PR/Cuban on her dad's side, and she knows more about this stuff from me. She is not too hot on statehood, but she very much thinks the Jones Act should be repealed/revised so cargo doesn't have to come from the continental US to PR.

My uncle and his partner did this in Northern California (Grass Valley). They have now moved to rural New Mexico with some other folks because they were worried about the fire danger to their adopted burros.

The way to do it would have been to post a headline saying you're going to spoil the twist in the article. I opened Vulture and it was spoiled for me, which I did not want. You suck.

I have been greatly enjoying the works of Joe Abercrombie. I just read "Half a King," which is about the attempts of the scorned younger son of a king to get revenge various traitors and reclaim the throne, which includes working with people he is thrown together with due to various exciting events.

I translate German for a living and "bei" often gives me trouble. It can mean "when, with, upon, at, in case of, in the event of" and several other things, including "by". German ain't easy!
