Indeed- AI has been thrown around like Superman yet what has been delivered are mere carnival sideshow tricks. I’d like to see Tim Cook step up and admit the blunder and then get back to work. There’s plenty of innovation to be had, you just have to work at it.

There’s nothing wrong with calling it Apple Intelligence and trying to refine Siri and make it more useful. Do that, Apple, and stop trying to be Gemini or OpenAI. Apple needs to do be what they were, not what they can’t be.

I think shareholder need has finally overcome the righteous path that has guided product development. Honestly, most generative AI features that have been thrown around are vaporware- they all have used extremely nuanced demos to promote the advanced features. This is a very needed article, John.
