Honestly it varies a lot. I've used all kinds of shapes but I don't think it matters as much as where the fluid is coming from & how much, and with how much force.

I will say that I sometimes animate the inflow velocity to increase at certain parts, and the friction levels matter a lot.

that's more or less it yeah. and I "loop" it by looping the whole animation for a long period and just letting it run. then I just choose a start and finish that look mostly similar.

settings are usually something like this, but it depends on how the fluids behave per scene tbh
