As proof-of-life here’s a snippet of the next chapter. I love the developing minjin (jinmin? Minseok? Help) dynamic
“Do we?” Seokjin asked. Jimin whipped his head up, frowning, then drew up short. Seokjin’s scent betrayed no frustration or anger; he’d assumed that was intentional. But Seokjin’s face was open, mildly confused. As they stared at each other, Seokjin bent down to kiss Jimin’s forehead, squeezing his upper arm. “We don’t know when they’re coming,” Seokjin said. “Yeonjun will come to check on us in another day, but that’s the extent of what we know.” He rubbed Jimin’s arm, the press of his palm firm over the fabric. “What we do have is enough to go out and prepare food, water… it’s not like we won’t be prepared if this is all we do today. Right?” And heavens damn it all, Jimin had forgotten just how hormonal he was after his heat. He twisted into Seokjin, tears bubbling in his eyes, and Seokjin sighed, tucking him under his chin. “Let’s go back to your nest,” he said. “We can always come back later.” Jimin nodded. “Besides,” Seokjin added. “I want to see what it looks like when you unravel a fabric. I don’t think you ever displayed it.” Jimin snorted. “That’s because it’s not pretty,” he grumbled. “I’ll have to ask you to let me decide what’s pretty to me,” Seokjin said, a soft rumble to his laugh. “I can be trusted, can’t I? I think of you.”

Been trying to work through some studies. The cold out here definitely is not helping my hands but things are happening, which is nice.

Idk anymore really
Three studies of Kim Namjoon and two focused facial feature studies of the same. in the upper left hand corner is a study of him looking over the top of a book he’s perhaps reading, more simplified; superimposed on it is a close-up study of his eye in a more realistic but still simplified style. Next to these on the right is a full-face study captured from a slight below angle, with his hair buzzed and a semi-neutral expression on his face. I have been trying to draw Kim Namjoon for years. I have succeeded perhaps once. While I can describe what I did my best to do, understand that these are not perfectly faithful pieces.

The mood of the month ft. The birthday boy

A hand and forearm, twisted to show palm and underside. Kinesiology tape stretches over the meat of the thumb and down the forearm, another across the wrist, another over the palm around the fingers, and yet ANOTHER around the base of the thumb. Meant for support with tendinitis and some wrist/palm pain since the owner of this arm has to be up in about 5.5 hours to go to work

“He’s my partner in crime,” Yunho declared. “Hyung,” Yoongi said, pinching the bridge of his nose. “He’s barely graduated high school.” “College,” Taehyung corrected, laughing at Yoongi’s exasperated look. “I’ve graduated from a four-year institution, hyung, I’m an adult.” “And hyung’s got a wife and kids, Taehyung-ah, don’t play dumb.” Yunho and Taehyung exchanged smirks, arms folded and heads tilted the way they always did when they got on Yoongi’s nerves. “C’mon, baby brother,” Yunho cooed. “Are you jealous?” Yoongi flushed. “I’m not jealous. I’m just pointing out that there’s a four-year age gap between you two.” Yunho quirked an eyebrow. “By the look on your face you’d think that’s a decade.” Yoongi turned pinker, glowering at him to avoid glancing over at the way Taehyung’s golden-brown muscles shifted when he- Taehyung caught his eye, and Yoongi huffed, looking away from both of them. It was the only way to keep them from seeing the way his lips twitch. Damn them. Damn Taehyung for being cute, and Damn his Hyung for being the Devil Incarnate. Sooner or later Yunho would figure it out, and then meetings like this would be absolutely unbearable. Speaking of which. “Why did you two invite me out here, again?” Yoongi asked, glancing around the studio. It was Taehyung’s; he’d been there enough times to feel a small burst of warmth at the scattered paints and hastily-wrapped hunk of clay, the wheel that hadn’t been unplugged properly, the myriad of sketches pinned and taped and command-hooked to the wall. A pile of blankets on the couch opposite the workspace suggested Taehyung had been spending nights at the studio again. Yoongi frowned. He’d have to talk to him about that. He might not be as close to him as Yunho, but he liked to think they were close enough for health-related questions. He could content himself with being Taehyung’s ‘hyung’, after all. Things would be too awkward if he got what he’d been daydreaming about for years now. Yunho and Taehyung exchanged another look. Taehyung shifted and bit his lip, and Yunho laughed, shaking his head. “I’m going to go get us smoothies,” he said. “I need you to babysit our dongsaeng and make sure he takes a proper nap.” “I told you I got eight hours,” Taehyung grumbled, but when he dropped his head, Yoongi caught him smiling. “Okay,” he said, gesturing to the couch. “You can squeeze in two more.” Taehyung snorted but, at Yoongi’s shooing motion, obeyed the implicit order and flopped in his blankets, wrapping them around himself and glaring out of a gap between one and the next. Yoongi chuckled, then sat on the couch in front of him, effectively trapping him between his back and the back of said couch. “Cheater,” Taehyung huffed. “Watermelon, right?” Yunho said. Yoongi nodded. “Kiwi,” Taehyung hollered, before Yunho could ask. “No duh,” Yunho shouted back, already halfway to the door. Yoongi let himself laugh at them, leaning into Taehyung and closing his eyes. He was reminded, again, of how small Taehyung used to be. Now Taehyung could probably cover him if he lay on top of him, and Yoongi got the feeling he could pick him up entirely if he wanted. He certainly threw him around like a rag doll. “Hyung,” Taehyung groaned, wriggling up enough to grab Yoongi by the waist and drag him down to be the little spoon. “You’re squishing me.” Then stop squeezing my heart, Yoongi wanted to retort. He stayed silent. Free cuddles were not to be refused.

Hoseok had seen the launch pad many times, for many ceremonies. He had never imagined he would walk it as a Prayer. The Thread, the long elevator that would launch him and his fellow Prayers into the open stars overhead, stretched above him into the fading blue. Their sun, the warm and gentle lover with his searing anger, made way for the soft eye of his husband. Between their lights, one shrinking and one growing, Hoseok did his best to breathe, to take in the last of the air from his planet. The shimmering holographic veil over his head masked his face, gently erasing his identity. His space suit was warm and soft, metal supports cradling his body. Once upon a time he’d watched these suits be crafted, individual workers pressing and pulling the metal and fabric and insulation into place. Now, he imagined he felt their hands within the suit, holding him, pressing him forward. Down to the shoes, he’d never felt so supported. He wondered if it would soothe the ache of dying alone out there. Humans were, he was told, well-suited to the practice of sending prayers. Some mused it was a remnant of their own old religions, the bodies made to firmly carry souls now withstanding impossible forces to carry the wishes of their community upward. Hoseok had argued many times, but it never meant much. The process was simple. Where other land to space elevators ended in stations and colonies, the thread ended with a soft taper that would allow their pods, with their bodies, to slip off into open space. The force alone would be enough to keep them moving for a very long time, perhaps even to the edge of the universe. Or so he’d been told. Then, a flicker. Hoseok blinked and rubbed his eyes. Before the viewport, a small red and yellow ball flickered, wisps like flames growing off of it. As he watched, it turned in the air and grew, forming a shape like an embryo. Had the stress of the launch broken his mind enough to hallucinate already? Was this the last thing he would see and understand? The embryo turned in the air, unmoved even as his home planet became another sphere in the distance. It began to grow limbs; hair twisted and exploded from its head, flickering and dancing like flames. Hands reached for the viewport, a shoulder twisted as the hair flowed between him and the being’s face, and Hoseok found himself uncurling, twisting as best as he could to watch as the figure extended, robes of red and yellow and blinding white unfurling in nonexistent solar winds. The being turned back to him, and Hoseok’s breath hitched, eyes widening. Their eyes. Their eyes. Deep browns and blinding whites, clouds of color braced with deep blacks, an eternity in two irises. The roots of their hair were black, their skin golden brown, their entire body formed as though… as though… Hoseok swallowed. He couldn’t look away. The figure’s lips moved, but he couldn’t hear. It shouldn’t be possible. It couldn’t be. The figure looked away again, opening their hand. A curl of light slipped around it, and the figure that appeared burst forth like a sprout from a seed, curling upward in sprays of blue and green and crashing down around the first figure like a wave on the sand. Where the two bodies met, flares of pink and purple sprayed outward. The second being’s eyes were darker, glimmering with something knowing. They reached out and placed a hand on the glass, and Hoseok found himself reaching out to mirror it, marvelling at how much smaller it was compared to his. How could a being with so much presence fit so perfectly under the other?

Seokjin took a deep breath, leaned into the couch, and tried to focus on the smell of baking bread instead of the waft of familiar cologne from across the cushions. Hoseok, for his part, didn’t seem interested in interacting either, eyes fixed on his slim fingers with their knobbly knuckles. Knuck-buddies, Seokjin had once joked while holding up their entwined hands, to Hoseok’s chagrin. Now he looked at the shades of soft blue and red under Hoseok’s skin and wanted to throw up. Yoongi sighed from the kitchen island, setting down a ball of dough with a soft slap. “I’m sorry.” “No, it’s fine,” Seokjin rushed to say, and Hoseok twisted, the same words echoing across the couch before drifting into the empty no-man’s land between them. “You didn’t do anything wrong,” Hoseok added, soft as always. Soft and sharp. What a walking contradiction. The pinks and purples of the sunset sank through the window and rested heavy on their shoulders, adorned the world with the air of a music video or a dramatic movie. Seokjin resolutely refused to meet Hoseok’s eyes, though he knew Hoseok was staring. Hoseok always stared, though he could never make true eye contact. There was something there that was too raw for him. Seokjin wished he’d realized just how raw Hoseok was under the surface before it was too late. Yoongi sighed, looking them both over. “No, I should have thought it through. I just wanted you both here, and I-“ “Min Yoongi,” Seokjin started sternly, and like an echo from another world, another life, Hoseok cut through, finishing the thought he’d barely come with. “If you guilt yourself into feeling worse because you wanted both of us here for you, I’m going to push you into the shower like we did when we were sixteen, and I’m not going to warm the water up.”

Six Mates. Six mates. It was unheard of for an otherwise-closed relationship to open to one more, even more so due to the moon and her whisperings. Heat coiled in Jeongguk’s stomach at the thought of it, the wedding ceremony and the mating to come. He hadn’t been allowed to see his mates-to-be, as per tradition. Being unsure about their faces, their personalities, their bodies, his mind constructed one fiction after another, each one leaving him twisted into strange shapes in bed with his thighs pressed together. Six mates; three alphas, two betas, and a fellow omega. Jeongguk had endured those jokes enough to know most of them assumed the moon was gently attempting to give the other omega a break. He wasn’t sure he’d do a good job of it, but god, the thought of it- Jeongguk practiced for this, in the privacy of his own room with his best friends giggling and bursting into full-bellied laughter while the heat rushed to his head and made him dizzy. The position felt familiar, even if the experience wouldn’t be; it had almost become soothing, though he kept that a dirty secret for himself and the moon. Six mates. Provided, of course, that they didn’t annul the whole thing after the first night.

As someone with a lot of online and long distance friends… this hit closer than I expected.
