I can agree to an extent. I think in theory if you build a super stealthy rogue like character you should be able to get into places a straightforward build shouldn't. In practice however I haven't seen that many interesting uses out of it.

I think too many skills is a fair complaint but options being locked behind skills is what makes your choices matter

I mean if its all about power fantasy why have skills at all? Like options being locked behind mechanical choices has been in crpgs since fallout 1. If that's not the case you might as well remove option based skills all together and make skills matter less overall.

Idk I loved rogue trader but I definitely had far more fun with BG3. I also hated the way wrath of the righteous played because I despise all the prebuffing. That said both are doing the AI thing do fuck us both I guess lol.

I think no respect sucks but i think things being locked behind certain skills is actually not bad. Choices both mechanical and narratively should matter and if you can do anything then they don't.

Idk. I definitely liked it has a crpg player. Like the amount of mechanical interactions and reactivity the game has is amazing and really showed off that I like about those type of games. That said im typically pretty indifferent to romance options so I probably just over looked those problems.

Thats fair and probably why I liked bg3 more. I went back to bg1 and beat it but was wildly unimpressed with it so i didn't even try bg2. I just didn't love the combat and playstyle. Weirdly enough despite being also a jank old rpg I liked fallout 1.

Tbf how strong someone actually is doesn't matter much in crossovers and DC is actually pretty lax about letting their characters get smacked around. Thst said this is part of a main dc event and superman is important in it so I'm sure he'll win.

I really loved E33, unironically though it was one of the best games ive played in years but the fact that it used AI should at the very least call into question its awards. Like this shouldn't be rewarded. And I say this as someone who was glazing the hell out of the game before I found out.

I've gone from "this game is great" and " I'm looking forward to this tittle" to "well fuck being excited for games I guess".

Yeah it has gotten pretty nuts. Plus on occasion you find a pretty good deal for an old game. Like I got Xcom 2 with all its dlc for 8 bucks. And a lot of AAA games aren't really knocking it out of the park at the moment anyways

I suppose on the brightside we will always have morrowind in all its beautiful jankness. I think ill probably just stop following games that from companies use AI in development. I've never been the boycott type tbh but its easy to ignore games when my enthusiasm for it has died.

Idk I think predatory monetization isnt going anywhere but I suppose I can AI being hypothetically beaten. Idk guess im going to have to draw new lines and just hope when I get a new game that it has no AI and the developers didn't do a ritualistic sacrifice on people. Sorry for venting by the way.

Tbh even my backlog doesn't cheer me up that much. The more ive learned about the gaming industry the past years the more I see its essentially a mini game about picking which unethical thing bothers you less. Like you want no AI? Okay heres a game made by satan. Shits depressing as hell.

Dude I wasn't necessarily going to boycott them I was just hugely disappointed. But the more they bumble this topic the less interested i am in their next project. Like Jesus Christ at least Todd Howard knows how to handle controversy and when to shut up.

Well fuck. As for starfinder I feel like there hasn't been enough about the game to really say if it looks good or not. Like im a fan of paizo but that's not indication of how good of a crpg they will make.

And here my dumbass was exited for a new divinity and hard-core rpg. Well hopefully owlcat doesn't do anything evil before their new game releases. Not a lot of good new crpgs out there lol.
