it's normal that u can't see anything when working on it, always have it on viewport and never in render, only in render when u are finishing with the lights, u can set the samples down to 1 on viewport and it should go better, also on preference see what works better with your gpu, cuda or theother

oh you can't do much with that, but still there a lot of ways to make it better on cycles, first you need to put gpu on everything, set the denoise lower, on performance u need to put the persistent data on and then turn it down to like 256 so it goes faster, u can turn off the light tree too

are u rendering with the right settings on cycles? there are a lot of ways to make it faster and smoother on the pc
