Can you tell I've been reading the Dorley chapters where the girls talk about their gender feelings
Ok so I used to think of myself as a boy who became a woman, but then I found my old sketchbooks from when I was a teenager and saw how many times I drew beautiful women who looked a little bit like me. My pretransition memories are difficult to access so bear with me as I get Metaphorical lmao. I think I was a shell. An opaque shell with a scared little girl inside, and as the shell grew bigger the little girl would rattle around and get bruised and cry. When I transitioned something new grew inside the shell, filled it out, reshaped it. Now the shell is within me, subsumed under soft skin, dissolving. I was not that little girl, not really, but I carry her with me, I comfort her when she cries because it's ok now, we've made it.
