anyway s2 has also fallen into the s1 problem of "they have 2 eps left to solve a conflict that cannot reasonably be solved in that time" so im excited for a rushed ending again!!!!! yay!!!!!!!

hazbin s2 does unfortunately also keep the Very Weird treatment of SA from s1, which i dont really feel like going into too much but just ughhhhhhhh whyyyyyy

the show inherently assumes that on the first go its always correct, everyone in hell is there for a good reason, if not then theres nothing to redeem so the concept kinda collapses

all the show does is question whether hell should be permanent, not if it should exist at all. the questions of who is judging souls, why they're being judged, and whether this judgement is valid are only brought up in the context of redeeming someone whos already there

hazbin is unfortunately kinda stuck to have some inherent writing shitness because of its premise. you can't accept the idea of a hell as valid and needed without question without running into some problems. the show is tainted by its premise

fwiw, "good" in the context of hazbin is still not astounding, this is not shakespeare, but there was some interesting shit they set up

and like, i have never seen a piece of media with such rapid and sudden changes in quality over and over like why

like they have a genuinely really good start with episode 1 and 2, but then episode 3 is just abysmal dogshit that taints the entirety of the season, then 4 and 5 are really good again, then 6 is good up until the last scene iykyk
