A regional illustration for those of us in Ontario, Canada…
May 23, 2025 at 2:16 PM
The results from Ontario would have seen a minority Liberal, NDP, green coalition - I vote for platforms, not people.

With proportional representation, we would not be seeing the destruction of healthcare, education, environmental rules etc.

Ford is corrupt - feeding gov money to his buddies.

And, you will never hear an admission like that from any current Con.

Admitting a mistake is the first step towards change. No person, no political party is perfect.

As Winston (certainly not perfect) said:

Indeed - “Of course not.”

Flood the zone with garbage.
Repeat the lie over and over and over.

I hope the CBC can survive the onslaught of misinformation that pervades our media - but it may already be too late.

In a time when knowledge is so readily available, we find ourselves lost in chaos 😾

And, for non-US citizens, just don’t head to the US!
May 18, 2025 at 12:34 AM
Darn it!

Don’t store the secrets!

I really wanted to see PP, Harper, Scheer, Manning and Smith pop the top off the Ark of the Covenant!
May 18, 2025 at 12:27 AM
I almost skipped reading it - I hate click bait. And, I think Carney will do a great job!

But, the threats indicated in the article are real - see the popular vote split and foreign ownership of our media below.

As things get worse, more voters will be swayed by rage farming.

Heading to the US is a game of Russian Roulette, and the stakes are arguably just as high - your life in a gulag.

The US no longer follows the rule of law - it is, for all intents and purposes, an authoritarian state.

Repairing it could take a generation, if it can be fixed at all.

Don’t go!

After collecting the biometric info, they will then be able to track you everywhere.

The “fun” will begin if you indicate you’re visiting friends in PlaceA and then you’re identified in PlaceB.

And then, off to the gulag!

This sounds like my response to a Doug Ford text before the election:

Have dropped this comic in several of these posts - it’s not a joke - just reality:
May 11, 2025 at 1:09 PM
If you’re a Canadian who has ignored the news for the past 3 months and are somehow enticed by this…

WAKE THE HELL UP!

ICE just arrested (disappeared) the Mayor of Newark!

The follow comic is not a joke:

Never been to Oslo, but the Stockholm arrangement is fantastic!

And many of the T-Banan stations are just amazing - Vreten shown below:

I’m finding the reporting here rather lame and missing one of the more important reasons travel to the US has dropped; the fact that border security can hold you without due cause and export you to a foreign gulag without due process!
May 8, 2025 at 4:26 PM
I know, right!

Like, how they’ve cleaned up that messy Ontario Place site!

Filthy bushes and trees and wildlife all gone!

We’re so lucky that Mr. Ford has our best interests at heart!

I think Mike could have handled it with a single phrase:

bsky.app/profile/adam...

When Poilievre gets his by-election, Canadian news media needs to make his attempts at media control an issue.

His behaviour during the federal election was, of course, right out of Trump’s playbook:

Wow! That is an old one - here’s a capture I had on my phone from January 30, 2017:

I wonder if this was the original?

I’ll just leave this here…

The data jurisdiction doesn’t preclude selling of a user’s data. A company can store user data in Canada and sell it - if it has your consent.

That aspect is covered by Gander’s Privacy Policy - which, I love because it’s simple, not 10 pages of legalize 😺

This could be a game changer for social media in Canada and, perhaps, the world at large.

Taking control out of the hands of billionaires, nazis, and right wing interests would be fantastic!

Data jurisdiction in an actual democracy is also appealing 😸
