Californian. Medically disabled, sometimes writer, sometimes photographer. Currently fighting chronic pulmonary aspergillosis, with fingers crossed.
A non sequitur in an age where I care *so much* about other weighty stuff, but the barrel-legged pants trend has me baffled. They’re so unflattering. I dated a bow-legged guy way back and have no desire to imitate him. But eating my words seems to be a middle aged curse, so who knows 🤷‍♀️ #fashion

I’m beginning to read The Demon of Unrest, by Erik Larson and… I know as kids in the U.S., we were taught about the Civil War in school. But man, I forgot all but the bare minimum. Thank you, to all who write accessible nonfiction, so I can pick it up and not be an idiot.

That tracks.
My son’s just sent us a picture of a crow that attacked him. Sort of grabbed at his head. We asked him why he thinks it did it. His exact words:

“Maybe it was because i was admiring another crow”

In the aftermath of the election, my son, in his young teens, has launched a philosophical, and fundamentally existential exploration (which he sometimes shares with me). Who am I? Who are we? Why am I? Does it matter? As responses to elections go, this one… seems as valid as any other right now.

Me: I guess it’s just chaos and mayhem now.
