Why do newer university buildings tend to be more autism-accessible? Key issues: poor signage, overwhelming sensory environments, & few navigation aids. Simple adaptations could dramatically improve university experiences for autistic individuals.

Our accessibility audit found the avg Uni Aberdeen bldg scores 3/5 for autism-friendliness. Sir Duncan Rice Library tops the list at 4.1/5, some historic bldgs score below 2/5. Visual ethnography helped ID barriers & solutions. Indiv. autism experiences are as diverse as the buildings themselves!
