It also looks at the impact that the film has had on contemporary art, popular culture, & how vampires have been depicted in media over the last century. What a wonderful celebration of vampires! 🖤 And it’ll help me get prepared to watch the NEW film adaptation when it comes out next week!

It’s about the 1922 silent film and title character, the vampire Nosferatu (whose real name is Count Orlok & who is an adaptation of Count Dracula). The historical artworks that inspired the film’s director (Friedrich Wilhelm) F.W. Murnau, and production stills from the set are included as well.

Wow! I received the most spectacular gift today all the way from Germany from a friend! It’s a museum exhibition book (& bookmark) for a 2022 retrospective called “Phantoms of the Night: 100 Years of Nosferatu” at the Staaiche Museen zu Berlin (State Museum of Berlin).

We looked at different examples of vampire adaptations then did a comparative, interactive deep dive into Anne Rice's writing in her first book Interview with the Vampire and how that story was translated into a script and then recently into a TV version on AMC.
