UPenn, GETUP-UAW. views on polymers and politics my own. they/them
Last week our graduate union at Penn accomplished something amazing. In GETUP's first ever strike authorization vote, two-thirds of all grad workers at Penn turned out in favor of striking to settle the contract we've been negotiating for over a year. Back in the bargaining room next week!

NKRC was extra special this year, even though it's always the best part of my summer. racked up 202mi of running and 23,000ft of climbing in the last two weeks and solo summitted two mountains I've wanted to do for years. can't wait to do it again next year and also every other year forever

Amazing new email from Penn to every single postdoc, signed by nobody, and trying to scare people out of voting in the union election that they are trying to prevent from happening, just dropped

Pictured: almost 200 Penn graduate workers attending their GETUP-UAW bargaining session today where we unveiled our economic platform for the first time. We are stronger together ❤️💪👊

My employer is trying to union-bust its Postdocs & Research Associates. @upenn.edu rejected their supermajority petition on the grounds that postdocs aren't workers (?), & is now text-blasting everyone in unit with links to their anti-union propaganda site. Extremely shameful, but I'm not surprised!

I wrote to Cory Booker as a former constituent. while I won't share the whole letter, I believe this is important to share, and that other people concerned about the reconciliation bill should contact him today
