I feel like it says something that iPadOS 26, and presumably iOS 26, are still “optional” updates.

Usually, the .1 release is when they become required.

Getting ready for Metroid Prime 4

I wrote a lot about the M5 iPad Pro, but it boils down to this:

The iPad Pro is Apple’s most versatile hardware, and iPadOS 26 enables apps to be more capable. Apple is, however, walking a fine line with its new OS.…

The welcome screen always puts a smile on my face

Please welcome the newest addition to my Dock!

Idk what it says about me that I have the Phone app in my iPad Dock but not my iPhone.

I usually do a black Apple logo with the white Magic Keyboard, but these days, that classic Apple logo is doing it for me

Just had a moment of visual overload.

Consistency is good and all, but sometimes apps can look *too* similar….

My evening got derailed by the “System Data using all of my storage” bug. Funny, after all the years this has been happening, there’s no good documentation on how to fix it outside of reinstalling the os.

Thankfully, turning off iCloud Drive and turning it back on fixed it for me.

📱 iPadOS 26 Public Beta 3 is out!

It is expected to match dev beta 6 with performance and stability improvements, as well as a fun Easter Egg in the Preview app!

Tried to pull up the Phone app on my main machine, on iPadOS 18, out of force of habit. How quickly we get used to things!

Not only does the Phone app show up in Spotlight, the App Store listing has already been updated with an iPadOS 26 screenshot 😁.

🚀 DaVinci Resolve 20.1 for iPadOS unlocks the Deliver Page!

Until now, the iPad version officially supported only the Cut and Color pages, with unofficial workarounds needed to access the other pages.

This update…

My iPad mini is still struggling a bit with battery life, but my M1 Pro is starting to feel like its old self again on the beta…just with way more windows 😁

Here’s a clear sign that most of my phone usage has shifted to iPad. There was a time when my phone was the first thing I updated whenever something new was available.

Now, my phone is my only device that wasn’t updated. 😆

The nice thing about keeping old computers in rotation is that Apple accessories start approaching reasonable prices on eBay over time.

This orange is one of my favorite Smart Cover colors and looks great on the M1 Pro.

I usually airdrop myself footage from my phone to my computer, but when I’m on a time crunch, fast wired transfers are the way to go.

🚨 Blender is coming to iPad!

The open-source 3D creation suite is getting a touch-optimized version for iPadOS and other tablets in the future!

M3 iPad Air looking and performing well (so far) on the public beta.

I think my favorite minor feature of the new design is the added depth to iPadOS/iOS icons. The flat versions never looked as good as the macOS counterparts.

iPhone Mini.

Always missed.

Never forgotten.

One of the nice things about working on an iPad is that it’s harder (but not impossible) for developers to block it from running iPhone-only apps (unlike macOS).

So I don’t have to wait for Nintendo to maybe make a desktop version of the Nintendo Music app, for example.
July 8, 2025 at 3:04 AM
Not only does #iPadOS26 remember your window size and position, it remembers them *per orientation*. This works if you minimize an app as well.

If you didn’t know, your home screen app layout works the same way!

My WWDC setup is ready!

The things I’m looking for today as an iPad user:

1. Whatever Apple does to make iPadOS a more productive platform doesn’t make iPad a worse tablet.

2. That we don’t get left behind on any major features this year. 😁

It’s a Mac Virtual Display kinda day folks

Just over a week until WWDC 2025!

Beyond the rumored redesigns, here’s what I’m hoping to see for my favorite Apple platforms.

While I’ve never used my iPad and thought “you know what this needs? A menu bar!” I’m very curious about what Apple is going to show at WWDC.

The latest rumors suggest they’re going to double down on the whole “consistent experience across devices” thing.
