Hey there! How established should you be for something like this? Is it predominantly for newcomers to the format?

I use the word “endorsement” very deliberately here. There is no neutral party in the arena of human rights- you are either in support of them or against them- and platforming the voices of those against them makes you complicit.

It should absolutely be illegal for companies like YouTube to bombard you with ads for weight loss pills. It is exploitative and cruel and we have to be more vocal about our right to not be passively absorbing these adverts for several hours a day. We cannot allow this to become normal.

I’ve had the good fortune in my life to not struggle with being overweight. That doesn’t mean that I haven’t obsessed over my weight for much of my adolescence and adult life. It doesn’t meant I haven’t watched loved ones suffer with- and almost lost a few to- debilitating eating disorders.

Oof. Yeah I know this one very well, that's a devastating situation to be in. Sending my best to your friend, who is definitely not in that challenging boat alone. It's hard work but it's respectable.

It does feel painfully rare at the moment. It's a bad time of year for this kind of work, and I don't regret my choices, but wow. It sure is tough out there for anyone who is a fan of being alive and having groceries money

It's wonderful to see someone articulate an issue which is so prevalent in so many "LGBTQ+" organisations. Many cis white gay men refuse to acknowledge the power and privilege they have access to and thus believe they are immune from abusing it. Thank you for explaining this so effectively.
