If you’re not failing, you’re not trying hard enough.
"On the other hand, it's also within the realms of possibility that this is not actually the case," responds some random dude who is also completely unqualified to comment on the issue.

Something is truly sick and despicable within the CULT KNOWN AS GOP (GASLIGHTING OUR PEOPLE) the emotional mental health is truly twisted as it just keeps coming to light what’s going on within!!

I think this whole thing is a trap.

Feigning ignorance and asking obviously dumb questions to provoke a grandstanding opportunity seems to characterise the latest mutation of Putin trolls.

Unfortunately, it works.

Definitely good. Need to know principle.

It's also highly plausible that they really didn't know because they're not all-seeing and all-knowing, but if they did for whatever reason, they wouldn't admit it.

Of course! They'll go for the low-hanging fruit first. Anyone with a recent paper trail, identity check, whatever.

"They won't deport the good guys" is the (self) reassuring staple of most xenophobes, and unfortunately a lot of well-meaning well-wishers. As if a government department under pressure to deport as many foreigners as possible looks at any case for more than two seconds before starting the process.

Exactly that.

I grew up in a small town that was quite early to get broadband. It went to a local enterprise centre and stopped there. Nobody subscribed, nobody was interested. It was capped. Around 15 years later you could get DSL/4G anywhere in the town, unlike the city I lived in. Amazing how things change.

This is where metrics break down. Remember AOL? Most would rather forget it, but in the mid-nineties, it was a radical experience that any ordinary person could have of experiencing the whole world at your fingertips. For me it was the same kind of experience as when I got the keys to my first car.
