i think in general my major complaint with the game can even trace back to the title.
"campaign evolved". like, it's already billing itself as "yeah, we're BETTER than that original version of the game, but you can still play it and enjoy that DOGSHIT from 2001".
everything about it alienates me.

lest we forget that before the covenant even remotely threatened the UNSC, the UNSC had developed the spartans to help Better Ensure Oppression of human rebellion/opposition to the UNSC.
