I love comics. And cookies. And kind people. And evidently, typos.

Secretly Boomslang, the scaled speedster!

Pronouns he/him -

Transphobes and other bigots are not welcome here.
#shakeyourclz The DC mystery books, especially those edited by Joe Orlando, are usually a pleasant diversion. This one evidently has some rare interior work by Mike Kaluta.

Just read The Coffin by Phil Hester and Mike Huddleston. Damn, it was good! Thought provoking and satisfying.

A wonderful Wonder Woman piece by Richard Howell. Originally published in Amazing Heroes 197.

#shakeyourclz Still surprises me that 1970s DC would reprint the Simon and Kirby Black Magic stories from the 50s. I'm glad they did, though.

#shakeyourclz I really don't remember much about this particular issue. I did enjoy Superman at this time, with its regular team of Cary Bates and Curt Swan. I did not think much of the Superman 2020 back-up series.

#shakeyourclz I bought Spider-Man regularly at this time. Looking back, I can't say any stories stick out in my memory. Not bad, but pretty generic.

Thank you to all you good people!

#shakeyourclz The Messner-Loebs run on the Flash is underappreciated. He did great work rehabilitating Wally from the Mike Baron characterization.

Lord, I love Ditko Dimensions!

#shakeyourclz It's a Secret Wars II issue, so it's not as good as it could be, but it's a Roger Stern/John Buscema/Tom Palmer issue, so it's not as bad as it could have been, either. Boring cover, though.

#shakeyourclz @twomorrows.bsky.social Modern Masters books are great full-length interviews with, well, modern masters of comics art. If you are putting them on your want list, be aware that the Darwyn Cooke volume never got published.

#shakeyourclz ACE: All Comics Evaluated was a short-lived attempt by Jon Cooke of Comic Book Creator to create a catch-all comics magazine. A noble attempt, but I am happier to have Comic Book Creator.

#shakeyourclz It was nice to have Jim Aparo art on Baxter paper. I was a faithful Outsiders reader till the end.

#shakeyourclz A very 1990s issue of Cap. I don't have much else to say, other than I preferred the Mark Waid/Ron Garney run.

#shakeyourclz I won't be keeping this. I don't see much interest in rereading.

#shakeyourclz I enjoyed the Len Wein/Paris Cullins Blue Beetle series. Straightforward superheroine.

#shakeyourclz Not sure I'll ever reread this, given the scripter.

#shakeyourclz Steve Ditko and Russ Heath handled pieces of this story. Another sentimental favorite from my youth

#shakeyourclz This period of the Superman books was consistently strong. Editor Mike Carlin hired good people.

#shakeyourclz I found the Captain Storm subplot compelling as an 8-9 year old, despite not liking war comics back then. A nostalgic favorite.

#shakeyourclz I really liked the Grant/Breyfogle team on Batman. Denny O'Neil's best decision during his long tenure as Batman editor.

#shakeyourclz I got about 10 years of SSOC I'm bound volumes from an eBay win, and then went back and collected all the issues I was missing. After a very short while I realized that I would need to really space out issues to keep from feeling I was reading the same story again and again.

#shakeyourclz Jeff Parker's X-MEN FIRST CLASS is a delight. I especially like Colleen Coover's contributions.
