Semi-unpopular opinion: Festival of Holidays is the best EPCOT fest because you don’t base the entire experience around purchasing food and drinks. The storytellers, Candlelight, and Glimmering Greenhouses are included in your tix and are some of the best theme park holiday offerings.

After seeing #wicked I have a better understanding of where people come from when they say it deserves a place in the parks. Personally I could see Oz as a better replacement to Lost Continent, but a steampunk Emerald City writes itself with Epic Universe. Either way, it should be permanent.

I can’t believe DAK gave Dinoland their best Christmas yet just for them to never use it again after this year. Details are everything and this Santa meet and greet went ALL OUT! Seriously, make time to meet Santa if you haven’t already. He’s super fun and it’s a great experience overall

Sinist3r and Surr3al didn't have that. Now, this is not to say that EVERYTHING has to be tied to Jack and the OG lore. You can do stand alone icons like The Pumpkin Lord. Here’s the main difference; PL is set up as a one off. Sinist3r and Surr3al aren’t. They claim to be born from the past (10/🧵)

on his own. The reason I bring this up is because this storytelling direction gives long time fans appreciation for following along and staying engaged while also offering something new. This also allows newcomers to appreciate Oddfellow as a character on his own from his original backstory (9/🧵)

Regardless, Sinist3r and Surr3al as icons miss a lot of what makes classic icons so memorable. Going back to 32, Oddfellow worked so well because he balanced referencing the old and being his own thing; he was tied to Jack's backstory, but he has his own story and style to where he can stand (8/🧵)

They overall just needed more story or deeper connections to the past years, especially since their whole schtick is that they've been around "for the past 33 years". and NMF was a ton of fun, but it is a far cry from the high points of last year. Most of my problems with 33, however, stem from the icons. What it feels like telling theme park trivia to my friends who already know it.

Say what you will about holiday offerings at the parks, but Christmas on Main Street is UNMATCHED! I can’t think of a more nostalgic feel and sound. Absolute perfection cross the board, only time when it’s better is when it’s below 70 degrees out
