Rusters are opportunistic scavengers linked to the remains of a bronze age civilization located near the equator.
They are very good at dismantling and reusing almost anything they can carry away.

Today another character, one not tied to a setting. Glyph is the last resident of a cult, a creature summoned by them before they disappeared.
Using the magic she learned in her time as their servant, she has gained control of the tower they left.
