Its fine to use alternatives, the CE effects filter is a great way to find those
Just look for defense/evade/damage cut CEs to put on Mash
And look for NP Gain(Per turn) and Stars Per Turn to put on Waver
Though 1/2 star CEs are not worth it unless you're low on Party cost and want to fill up

His internal(star generation/NP generation) based on cards is p low so command codes are the simplest step forward, slap your best star burst CCs on his quick, put your best general critical strength/NP strength(use pre NP in chains) on busters, arts just toss a defensive CC or Remove buff(enemy)
