Working on ch2 of Axe 2 now. Already got about 2k words done today.

Susie and Noelle are gonna be gayer in this sequel and I'm startin off STRONG in the Suselle vibes

"It's real, Susie!" Noelle said, her breath gasping from excitement and laughter. "Dude, I know!!" Susie rasped back. Noelle's hand squeezed tight. Susie noticed the cold ring on her finger, the steel chilling through her scales, giving Noelle's fur an almost cool pillow feel. It felt so nice. Susie's heart was thrashing still, her lungs gasping for air as she stared at Noelle's rosy cheeks and glowing red nose. Why couldn't she calm down? Why did it all feel like so much? She looked at their hands, interlaced, scale and fur together as one. Susie's claw appeared gentler than she'd ever seen, ever thought it could be. Noelle's thumb brushed over Susie's, stroking slowly, sending cold waves of excitement through her chest. That… that must have… been the culprit! But she didn't want to let go. She didn't want to. She didn't want to. Holding hands like this… Susie thought it was for Noelle's sake, but maybe… maybe Susie needed it more than she realized. She… Yet another deer girl appeared before Susie, but she found this one easier to look at, this one didn't make her lose her breath like Noelle. Ember huffed and gave them her signature 'cool' smile, full of pearly white teeth that were only highlighted due to her dark fur and short black hair. "Hey guys!! It's been so long!" Her ears jingled with motion, the Deltarune earring dangling on one big ear. Behind her, a pair of worn white wings flapped happily, helplessly. "It's only been a day, you weirdo," Susie said with a smirk. Thankfully, Ember took some of that tension off Susie from before. "Oh." Ember paused, her wings slowing. "Is that so? Guess I'm not used to this whole 'friend' thing yet. Either way, it's just nice to see you!" "It's…" Noelle started, waving and smiling sheepishly towards Ember. "It's nice to see you too, Ember." (Still awkward between them, huh…) "Or are you just trying to get rid of Noelle…? What's going on with you two?" Susie narrowed her eyes. "N-nothing!" Ember stuttered, her 'cool' persona certainly heating up. "I just… I noticed she…" She sighed, eyes downcast, wings and ears drooping. "She doesn't seem to like me very much. I was thinking maybe… if I trust her with a task, she'll… maybe she'll…" (Oh damn…) Susie put a hand on Ember's shoulder. "Hey man, don't worry. You'll grow on her. I'm sure." Ember's eyes nearly sparkled with innocence, strange for a 'cool' deer. "Noelle's like… the nicest girl I've ever met. She'll like you." In a moment of honesty, Ember revealed more than Susie expected. "You really think so?" (Crap. This means way more to her than I expected. Uhh…) "Yeah. Probably," Susie said. Ember winced, but still smiled. (I am so bad at this.) Noelle smiled sweetly at them, but tilted her head as she looked over Lancer's head. "Oh! But… your crown. Your castle… It's…" "Allll gone!" Lancer held up his hands and mimicked rainfall for some reason, as if it were washed away. Susie took a step back, despite Lancer's infectious joy. "Wait, what? You… you lost everything? But where are you gonna live?" Lancer simply spun and bounced like the beautiful blue boy he was, completely unphased by anything. "Don't worry, Susie! As an honorary soft girl myself, I have already infiltrated their base and established my own little hole! Soon, you and I will tear down the castle from the inside out!!!" "DUUDE, THAT'S SICK!" Susie cried, high fiving him again. Ember raised an eyebrow. "But, you'll be out of a home again if you do that." "We'll just infiltrate another castle!" Lancer said both fiendishly and softly. "And then tear it down from the inside, too!" "Duh!" "That's the circle of life!!!" "Yeah!!"

I'm pretty proud of it already, and I've written 9k words already...!

Have more WIP snippets with Suselle moments of Noelle being insane. (And rightfully scared)

Susie's jaw dropped. A piece of chalk fell out. Noelle, surprising herself, caught it in her palm, nearly spilling her salad seemingly made from the North Pole itself. "Oop! Almost, faha, dropped… this…" Her voice trailed off, realizing bits of drool coated the chalk, slimy and sinking into her fur. She gulped. Her nose glowed. "Oh, man, sorry, I—" Susie started, but quickly found herself interrupted by something insane. Lightning fast, Noelle stuffed that drooly piece of chalk into her own mouth. (Uhhhhhhhh…) "Uhhhhhhhh…" Were Susie's eyes playing tricks on her? CRRRONCH. Noelle, uncomfortably, chewed, her cheeks puffed out, completely full like a squirrel. She winced with each crunch, with each chew, and threatened to cough it back up into her hand. Tears formed in her eyes, but she simply crunched away, the strangest mix of misery and bliss in her face. (DO I SAY ANYTHING ABOUT THIS. DO I DO ANYTHING? SHOULD I HELP HER?) "Are you—" "FAHA, I'M—CROMNCCGGH!—FINE!" "You made this yourself?!" Susie shouted. "Y-yeah!" She shifted the chalk to her other cheek, perhaps … sucking on it? (Pretend not to notice, pretend not to notice…) "It's not really as hard as it looks, faha. It's just a salad." Susie's eyes widened as she scanned over this vegetable paradise. "Wait, wait. There's no meat. Did you eat it already?" Noelle grimaced slightly. "Oh, um. Not really a huge fan of meat, actually?" (BUT CHALK IS COOL I GUESS. Not that I should talk.) "Are you a veggietarian?" Susie asked. She shifted the chalk in her mouth again, sighing through her nose. Either the chalk was really giving her trouble, or this was a hard subject. "I'm not really a vegetarian, but like… I'd just prefer not to eat meat if I don't have to. My family doesn't feel the same way, my mom actually…" she paused to slurp at the chalk. "Ah. You know. Whatever." She looked to Susie, holding up her beautiful salad creation. "Want some?"

Noelle's face appeared just inches away from Susie's. Her eyes had turned into dizzying swirls, her head bobbing with the motion. She was propped up against some concrete wall, limp body directly underneath Susie. Susie's hands nearly, oh so nearly embraced Noelle, their shoulders practically touching at the closeness. Susie's knee had very dangerously fallen between Noelle's furry legs, right under her skirt. (Don't touch her, don't touch her, don't touch her!! She's gonna think you're some kind of freak!! Worse! A pervert!) Susie didn't even breathe, shivering against Noelle's nearness, solving math equations in her head how to untangle herself from this situation before someone got the wrong idea or before Noelle realized what was happening. Without sparing it another thought, Susie put her arm around Noelle's shoulders. In a friend way. A pal way. She pulled Noelle in, their shoulders bumping with the motion, and that felt right. This is what buds do, isn't it? This is what friends do, right? Yet, for whatever reason, Noelle shrieked again. Her breath quickened, her nose shone, and that little puffball tail started sweeping up the tile. She musta still been scared of Susie. But… Susie had forgotten what she was talking about. Sitting with Noelle like this. Arm around her shoulder, her soft fur brushing against Susie's jacket. It became so quiet. So quiet. She could only hear the pound! of her heart in her chest. What happened? (Say something, dumbass!) "You, uh," Susie started, staring into Noelle's golden hair, the brown fur at her cheeks, tinted with rose. Say something a normal person would say. To a normal friend. "Lookin' good, today, dude!" She flashed Noelle a thumbs up. (What is wrong with me??) "Wake up, Kris," Susie said with a snarl, angrier than she meant. Something about that kid still pissed her off, still made her claws flex. Kris didn't move. Exactly as Susie expected. Ms. Toriel's lunch was wasted on this freak. "I said wake up!" Susie screeched, grabbing them by their hair and forcibly pulling their head up. She couldn't stand them. She couldn't stand them. Always sleeping, always moping, always acting like such a little creep. Noelle tried to reach out to them multiple times, at least once a day, and they never even gave her the time of day! (I'd never squander that. Ungrateful bastard.) Every single day, Noelle would give Kris a pencil. Every. Day. You know how many pencils, Susie got? Two. Just two so far. Yet, Kris, oh the world had to revolve around Kris, didn't it? The little sad sack, the little creep with their amazing parent, their amazing house, their amazing food! Why didn't anyone else see it?! Why was it only Susie?! "Hey! Want a treat? Hm?" Noelle giggled. Susie felt her mouth salivating but tried to hide it from Noelle. "… Treat?" Once again, Noelle's eyes flitted to something at Susie's backside. But Susie was too hungry, too busy trying to keep herself from drooling. "I got you something, faha." Noelle reached for one of the square boxes in her lap. It was purple and pink, with a little red bow on the top of it. "H-here." Her voice hitched as she held it up. "T-thanks…!" Susie said hungrily. Slurping up a bit of her drool, something wagging and brushing against the wall, she flipped open the box. She stared. "… … chalk???" Noelle nodded, smiling as brightly as could be, only her nose beating it. "Yeah! I saw you eating it yesterday, remember? And… and… I… um…" "YOU HAD CHALK THE WHOLE GODDAMN TIME?" Susie shouted, mouth already half full as she stuffed it full of purples and pinks. CRUNCH! CRONCH! MUNCH! Mmm… grape… strawberry…! This stuff tasted way better than Alphys' chalk!
