So, I've been studying how they did the infected AI in Left 4 Dead, and by doing that I have managed to replicate it in unreal, sure the enemy just teleports up there, but you can see the raycasts happening. #indieDev #DevelopmentAchievement #GameDevelopment #gameDev #gameJam

In our #indieGame which we're making for a #gamejam we decided we needed an inventory system - such a thing sounded daunting being the only programmer on the team. HOWEVER, this pegasus isn't one to back down from a challenge. I'll post footage of the system working later.

Ok, but who was gonna tell me the actual speed benefits of 'overpainting' for miniatures? being able to bash out a 10 man squad of space marine's armour in 30 minutes is INSANE.

Suffice to say, I am gonna be sticking with this method for painting Astartes going forwards. #warhammerpainting

Phew - still can't go into hyper detail, but we now have some new stuff in the game.

The attack system is coming along and each little change I make is making everything feel way more responsive.

Should be stated that this project is not Pony related.

You know the Nintendo Switch 2 situation is bad when people are getting their consoles bricked for playing games that they own. I get that the MIG Switch can lead to bad actors, but this screams Nintendo hates game preservation (which, lets be honest is nothing new) and have stooped to a new low.

Ok, so learning about level streaming in Unreal Engine 5 is such a game changer - stops that awkward silence whilst stuff loads.

I feel like that's gonna become something very important for when I start working on the souls-like game I've been concepting with a friend.

The joys of Unreal Engine - I'm just casually setting myself up for a project to be scalable, and the very function I'm making decides to not fully work with no errors being thrown. I think that's a sign for me to walk away from it for today and come back tomorrow.
